Thursday at Charleston Fashion Week

Last week was my 5th year attending Charleston Fashion Week. It’s hard to believe another year has already come and gone but I have to say it did not disappoint. I have always loved the energy, designers and fashionable people that fill Marion Square. Mostly, I love getting dressed up with some of my favorite fashion babes for a fun night out. The weather is always a gamble in March for the South. Coming off a recent snow and cold snap, Thursday night was still pretty windy and cold. Luckily, after five years of experience with crazy weather taught me to be prepared. I took a variety of outfit options (and by variety I mean way too many) with me and settled on the perfect blend of fashionable and warm for Thursday night with wide leg pants and a bright and bold “suit”.

The wide leg pants were so comfy and flowy but still kept me warm in the tents. I got super lucky that my favorite Kate Spade coat from three years ago is the same exact shade of red-orange and made for the perfect topper and a chic head to toe color look. Keeping with the theme of brights, I added a loose blue halter tank for a cool contrast. I opted for pretty simple accessories since my outfit was so bold. My white ring bag is an identical dupe to the designer version and was a great one to carry around town all weekend. It was deep and roomy enough to hold all my necessities and all my show credentials and goodies.

As I’m writing, I am also just realizing this pic makes me look engaged. While I’ve been proudly rocking the ring for 4 1/2 years now, my #mylkmani is super fresh. I have been following Mylk Bar on instagram for months and go nuts over each mani they post. They are pros at nail art and have artists that take it to a whole new level. Honestly, if you can dream it, they can do it. I was beyond excited when Katie invited me in for a pre-CFW mani. We started talking and planning a few weeks prior to my appointment and both agreed on a design Mylk had never done before. It was my first stop when I got in town and I could not have been any happier with how it turned out. If you are in the Charleston area, be sure to stop in and get your own Reese’s Hardwear collab flying bow. It will be on the nail art menu later this spring!  If you haven’t seen it up close you have to check out my insta post.

After my mani, I went straight to the hotel to get ready and headed down to the Woodhouse Spa VIP Party with Liz and Kim. Kim and Woodhouse Spa were such incredible hosts and knew how to throw a party – complete with champagne flutes and all. They also have the most incredible menu of services that are sure to relax you. This year’s trip was a quick one so I wasn’t able to indulge in any, but am already marking my favorites for the next trip.

Kelly Callaway Emerging Designer

Thursday night’s runway was no disappointment. There were so many incredible designers it was hard to chose a favorite. Tina Gancev’s use of draping was so elegant and soft while the modern designs of 12 year old Kelly Callaway were bold and striking. We also saw shows from some of Charleston’s local boutiques including one of my personal favorites, Julep. All in all, my first night under the tents did not disappoint!

Sounds like an incredible experience. Love these looks…all of them! Love the wide pants, love the black and white (my fave—stripes or polka dots) and love the accessories!
