Happy Twosday & happy August! I’m seriously in disbelief we are already in the month of August and that Fall is right around the corner. While I have been religious in sharing how much I favor summer, I do really like fall and fall fashion. Tbh, it’s just winter I have real issues with. Anyways, as temperatures start to creep down from the 100s, kids go back to some form of school and we look forward to the leaves turning, fun transitional matched sets like this chevron matched set are on my mind.

When it comes to transitional items I look for them to be a few things: comfortable, layerable, and versatile. This chevron matched set checks off all my boxes. The top & skirt are made of a light weight pointelle knit – light enought for the end of summer, and warm enough for the beginning of fall – also the perfect weight for layering. I am already thinking of other skirts and jeans I can wear with the top and which sweaters and boots will set off this long skirt. Another thing I love about the set is that each piece (or the set) is easily dressed up for an occasion or down for a day out. Check out the second look for my casual version.

This casual version is basically my uniform. I don’t love wearing shorts very much because I’ve always been super self-conscious about my legs but they are cool and easy for keeping up with my boys in the summer and on the weekends. I found these fab blush shorts at Belk earlier this summer and snagged them in a few colors. The blush has been my favorite though and was the perfect match for the top of my chevron matched set. Throw in the perfect sized Beck Bag tote and these amazing stud sandals I’m newly obsessed with and you’ve got a fun casual outfit that is boy mom-approved. If it were a little cooler or an even more casual occasion, I’d throw on my fave pink or tan sneaks for an ultra-cool vibe.
