I’ve Got the Blues // Transitional Spring Look

Spring transitional look - blue velvet and paisley

Helloooo Monday! Can anyone else believe we are actually pulling out the sunglasses today? I honestly cannot and don’t know what to do with myself. Before I run off to play all day in the sun, I wanted to talk about a good formula for a transitional Spring look. Y’all know too well by now that we are on a rollercoaster of weather here in the South. Since each day is its own, I wanted to create a transitional Spring look that works no matter what.

I love all things blue and white which is why I was dying over this paisley top and knew I wanted to build a look around it. It has an great fit and is a great starting piece for another transitional Spring look. It’s also under $20 and has matching pants!! For those volatile temps I mentioned, I paired the paisley top with my velvet midi skirt and grey herringbone blazer and opted for bare legs. If it was warmer, I’d ditch the blazer and move the belt to the skirt to keep a defined waistline. If it was colder, I’d throw on some navy or black tights. I love the idea of navy matching the skirt, but I’m really loving the black and navy combo lately – both would look fab! Top it off with your favorite accessories to give it your own personal touch (maybe swap the logo belt for a more simple one and layer on a few brooches?!) and you’re all set.
