When planning any event, there is one detail that is more important than all the others: having good food. You can have the most gorgeous event, but if the food is bad, your guests probably won’t care about the other details and will always remember. Whether I’m planning a wedding, baby shower or a Spring brunch with girlfriends, I always make sure there is a variety of good food. Luckily, my brunching girlfriends agree which is why we chose Callie’s Charleston Biscuits for our Spring brunch.

About Callie’s

If you aren’t familiar with Callie’s then let me tell you a little about them. Callie’s Charleston Biscuits is a handmade biscuit company based in, you guessed it, Charleston, SC. While their bread and butter (pun intended) is their menu of biscuits, they offer other delicious Southern staples like pimento cheese and Carolina grits. All of the biscuits are made by a small team of biscuit makers following a family recipe that has been passed down several generations which means no matter how you get your Callie’s, it will be delicious.

I first learned about Callie’s from a girlfriend giving me food recommendations before my first trip to Charleston. She said I had to go to Callie’s Hot Little Biscuit; the grab-and-go biscuit restaurant. I took her advice and immediately fell in love but was sad I could only get Callie’s while visiting the Holy City – or so I thought. There are so many ways to get delicious Callie’s biscuits no matter where you live.

Where & How to Get It

If you live close to one of Callie’s 3 Hot Little Biscuit locations (Charleston Upper King, Charleston City Market & Atlanta), soon to be 4,  you can get them hot and fresh out the kitchen. Wondering where the fourth location is?! Charlotte friends it’s coming to us and I could not be more excited. There is no firm opening date set yet, but you can get all the location and menu details here. If you’re not close to an HLB location, try stopping into your local Earthfare or The Fresh Market to shop the frozen section or enter your zip code here to find all the places close to you. I’ll bet there’s a place to get your Southern fix closer than you think. But, if none of those options work for you, then you can get Callie’s as we did for our chic Spring brunch: delivered straight to your door.

Our Favorites

We got a variety of buttermilk, country ham and blueberry biscuits, pimento cheese and grits delivered right to us just days before our brunch. I put them away in the freezer until it was time to brunch. By following the easy re-heat instructions, my girlfriends and I were chowing down on everything within 30 minutes and everything tasted as fresh as if it were just made. We all agreed on how delicious the spread was and cannot wait to visit the new Charlotte Hot Little Biscuit for another brunch rendezvous.
