One of the things I love about summer is that for three months during the year it is socially acceptable to be kitchy and wear cutesy things. Typically, you only get national holidays (St Pattys Day, Halloween) and special events (bachelorettes, birthdays etc.) and that’s about it. I am totally in love with all the cute summer themed things I am seeing out this year. There are flamingos, watermelons, pineapples and Popsicles everywhere and I just can’t get enough. With Memorial day weekend coming up as the unofficial start to Summer, I decided to share some of my favorites. These items are great things to pack for any long weekend vacay you might be taking and are are really trending right now. My personal favorite is the espadrille trend. I have pretty much ditched all my basic flats for this updated summery style. There are so many different styles and patterns to choose from it will be difficult to limit yourself even to only a few pairs. All the other packing necessities are pretty much by the book. I love the twist on the classic sun hat this year. All the cute sayings are really tempting me to grow my hat collection in a big way. A straw tote & punchy clutch are great for any occasion. You can throw everything in a bag and take it all or just grab the clutch you need an run out for an errand. Embroidered beach cover-ups are the cutest and come in the most patriotic colors.
