Fall Stripes

Happy Thursday day babes. Today I’m tackling a topic that, somehow, in 2017 in the South is still a “hot” one. You probably guessed it: white after Labor Day! I’m sure I’ve told you guys I’m not much on the fashion rules, especially when it comes to white. I really like white and feel like it truly has life year round. And tbh, as long as it’s still reaching high 80’s & 90’s, I’m not busting out the black or dark washes. So, today I’m sharing one of the ways I transition my white jeans to Fall with this stripe cardigan.

As I mentioned, I really like white. If you don’t believe me you can see it for yourself here, here and here ! So it should come as no surprise that I have multiple pairs of white jeans (just a ripped, a step hem and a clean skinny). Since my office dress code went super casual earlier this year, I stocked up so I could wear them regularly with different tops etc. Much to my surprise, this clean skinny pair have become my favorites and the easiest pair to transition to Fall. There are so many great details and trends happening in denim right now, but I don’t think anyone can argue that a great skinny is the easiest to tuck into your OTK or ankle boots. I also love how they lighten up an outfit. Call me crazy, but I’m not 100% ready for a completely dark hued wardrobe. That’s also the reason I was drawn to this stripe cardigan. I scooped it up so fast at the #Nsale in July and have been loving it ever since. It’s a great transitional piece and the neutral color palette is so easy to work with. White and camel with touches of black literally go with everything so you can’t go wrong. I paired my basic silk cami with it this time but I can’t wait to layer it up with a turtle neck and some OTK boots later in the season.

Like everything in fashion, choosing to wear white jeans or white pieces in general after Labor Day is all about personal preference and what you’re comfortable with. You won’t find me in anything linen or gauzy, but I have no issues with wearing white staples year round. I say, if you like it, wear it. It’s part of who you are and your personal style. Everyone knows there are so many “crazy” things in fashion and some very eclectic looks put together during fashion months that my white pants should be the least offensive thing anyone sees. I hope you wear them proudly and I  hope you guys have a great day & can find the strength to carry through to Friday.

Come back tomorrow for my post on all the fab Fall sweaters you need under $50!
