Hopefully you caught the first post of Fall Accessory Week on Monday. If not, you can read all about it and my love of hats here. Today I’m talking about scarves. I am pretty excited this trend is making a come back. Winter scarves are always a staple for warmth this time of year, but the printed silk lady like scarves formerly reserved for grandmas are coming back and being worn in so many fresh ways. I was lucky to inherit a ton of vintage scarves from a family friend and have been trying to style them in here and there over the years. Printed scarves are a great way to add pattern to a look that needs a little something extra but not too much. You can tie one on your neck, bag, wrist or hair to complete a casual or dressy look.
I styled this pleated midi dress (also seen here) with my fave polka dot blazer and straw bucket bag for more of a playful yet put together look. Temps are still up and down and overall quite warm in the South so a blazer + dress formula is perfect. I love mixing prints where it works so I took a subtle approach and threw in this stripe scarf to complete everything and tie in all the colors of the jacket and the dress. Scroll through to see more of the look and few other ways I’ve styled scarves over the years.
