While I’ve loved all the sun and warm temps we’ve gotten this week, I know there are more rainy days ahead. April showers bring May flowers right!? With all this rain lately, I’ve gotten pretty good at dressing for it. As much as I’d like to stay home on every dreary day, life goes on and more often than not, I have to brave the elements to get my never ending to-do list done. Today’s look is all about those days when you just have to deal and the perfect rain jacket.
When it rains, there are two things I don’t leave the house without: my jacket and my rain boots. It may seem crazy that an umbrella isn’t on my list, but I honestly hate them all. I almost always have my hands full and I am 100% guilty of trying to do or carry too much at one time. So, I prefer a good jacket with a hood over another thing that I have to figure out how to hold while I’m doing all the things. I have been on the hunt for a good rain jacket for a while now. The one I had been using was more of a winter coat that repelled water and was so difficult to wear in the Spring or for the overall warm climate we have here in Charlotte. The search wasn’t too hard; there are tons of great options out there. I had found several that I liked, including this metallic one from last year, but had serious commitment issues when it came to colors. I finally found this gem and knew it was the one by how much joy I felt in that first moment. My only problem was choosing the right color. It comes in just about every color you can imagine and they are all b e a u t i f u l. I ended up buying a few to try on and landed on to help me make my decision. This red one was a favorite and such a great hue to brighten up a gloomy day. It also gives me all the reason to trade out my usual hot pink lip for a more sultry red.
