Every year our Thanksgiving Day is filled with family, travel, fellowship and so much good food I always over indulge. I have always loved the rich colors of Fall and Thanksgiving and really love finding the right outfit to wear. Because we are on the move and stuffed all day long, my looks have to be comfortable, forgiving and of course fashionable. That’s why I’ve picked this polka dot skirt and matching blouse for my Turkey Day attire this year. The rust color screams Fall and the black and brown combo in this look reminds me of the pilgrim and Indian outfits I would wear when I was dressing up in school. In addition to the fabulous polka dot print that I’m totally obsessed with right now, this skirt has an elastic waist (for max comfort with or without the food baby) and is very easy to dress up or down.
The great thing about my family gatherings is that they aren’t over the top one way or the other. Some years I opt for a great pair of jeans (with plenty of stretch) and others I get a little fancier. I styled the dressed up version in today’s look but am thinking about throwing on a sweater and flats of some kind for a more casual low key look. One thing is for sure, this new mama won’t be wearing these heels all day with a newborn in tow.
