Mornin’ y’all. With the swift change in temps I jumped at the opportunity to break out a few transitional fall pieces – including but not limited to this pleated skirt. If you don’t have one already, I highly recommend getting a leather (or faux depending on ethics and budget) skirt. It is a warmer style and looks great with OTK boots, flats, sneaks, loafers or heels.
I really struggle with this time of year and often find myself on a roller coaster when it comes to my attitude about the cooler part of the year. It really helps me out though that the bright saturated tones of Summer are bleeding into Fall fashion. One of my biggest struggles with the season change is the darkness my wardrobe takes on somewhere around October. I’m particularly excited about this vibrant hot pink! Can we all say HELLO FABULOUS?! Trust me when I say I will be the first one to dress head to toe in 80’s flash dance brights all season long. I’m already kind of on the fence about seasonal fashion rules – who’s still wearing their white jeans?! This girl is for sure.. like right now actually.. Anyways, back on track. I know #millennialpink has been a thing for a while, but this white girl has a peachy red undertone to her skin and that skin shade of pink is far less favorable than the bright version. Since we’ve seen hints of the season change peek through, I’ve decided to try different things with my looks and general style. I’ve never considered myself to have one particular style. I dress for my mood and where I’m going and that can be all over the board at any given time. One thing I’m challenging myself with is staying withing one color family. I really like the looks I see where the whole outfit is one color or different shades of the same color. It has such an incredible feel to it. Before you point out that I have different colors on (I know: blue and yellow) let me say that I am creeping into this. I have realized that because this hasn’t been my natural tendency, my wardrobe isn’t necessarily built to dress all in one color. So, I’m starting slow and building the outfits with what I have and carefully curating other Fall fill-ins to supplement. I can’t wait to look back and see the evolution of the season and hope I don’t fall back into some of the natural style habits I do have.
What are some of your habits? Are you guys trying anything new or challenging yourself this season?
Let me know in the comments below! I’d love to hear and follow along your journey!

Girl, I have the same opinion about seasonal fashion rules. I rarely follow them honestly. I will wear florals all year round even if it’s not spring and I have no regrets! Loving your outfit, your skirt is so cute. 😀 http://apetiteflower.blogspot.com
