Summer is winding down and while most people are giddy over the return of the PSL, I’m mourning the unofficial end of summer. Anyone else with me and totally live for beach days and summer nights? I’ve had a full plate this summer and haven’t had time for my monthly #RHentertains posts but couldn’t resist the opportunity to go all-in on this blue & white oyster tablescape to send off summer in style.

The Oyster Tablescape
This was an exceptionally fun table to put together. So many of these items are things I’ve had for years and just threw together. Last year when I went crazy organizing everything, I found some old favorites I forgot I had. It’s always fun to shop through what you already have and find ways to make them new and exciting. A dear friend of mine used to own an interior design shop here in town and offered a variety of unique home decor and entertaining things for her clients. I snagged these dot napkins and shell placemats from her when we bought our first house in 2013 and have been obsessed with them ever since. Sadly, that store closed several years ago but I have found some dupes to re-create the look.
Another fun find was this oyster garland. I found it at a small shop (14 & East) in Charleston in 2017. I purchased it to use as garland on our Christmas tree but pulled it out of the holiday boxes to re-purpose for a chic on-theme centerpiece. I love it on our tree, but really love how it adds texture and interest to this table. It paired perfectly with the amazing oyster shell napkin rings I found in a Belmont, NC home store. I died when I saw them and instantly bought 10. They can also be used as a votive holder and are equally stunning when done so.
Shop the Coastal Favorites
The table was feeling pretty neutral so I layered on the blues for a coastal chic / Southern Living vibe. I’ve had this blue and white checked tablecloth for a while now (also used in this brunch post) and just picked up several rounds for the Tar-Heel party we hosted – more on that coming soon. They have been more than versatile so I didn’t mind adding them to my inventory of linens. The bamboo flatware, Vietri plates, shell plates, and drinkware were all older items that I’ve used for various events and posts in the past.
Other than not having to spend too much on this oyster tablescape, my favorite thing about this theme is how calming it is. The colors and coastal elements included in the oyster tablescape are so calming, like the ocean. It’s really great when a vision comes to life exactly the way you planned. I couldn’t be happier with the balance of texture, color, and heights used on this oyster tablescape. I hope you guys love this table as much as I do. I know I really do say this every time but this is one of my top, all-time favorites. It incorporates so many things I love. I want to know some of your favorite things. Drop a line in the comments below and let me know some of your favorite things and what you love about the end of summer.
