I’m so excited to have the playroom wrapped up so I can focus on this baby’s room. I’ve thought long and hard about how I want this room to be as thoughtful and special as Wally’s nursery is. I really want it to reflect my style and be a happy place for me to spend lots of hours and late nights in but still be true to this child and unique to them. I’ve been collecting nursery ideas, shopping products, and building these boards for months now and before we found out what we were having, I truly didn’t know which way I wanted it to go. I’d love to have a girl before we finish having kids but at the same time, I really wanted Wally to have a brother and a friend close in age to play with. I’ll be sharing the gender soon but for now, I’m sharing the 4 baby nursery ideas I’ve put together. You can also check out more nursery ideas in this post.
Nautical Boy’s Nursery

When I was pregnant with Wally I kind of thought I wanted to do a nautical / sailing themed nursery but managed to talk myself out of it because everything I found at the time was very “baby nautical” and I had a vision of a more mature, maritime nautical. My vision for both nurseries has always been with their future in mind. Babies aren’t babies for long and it’s important to me to have a room that is easy to grow and transition with them until then get old enough to choose what they want. I’m really excited about this one and love everything I’ve found for it so far.
Girl’s Coastal Nursery

Of all my nursery ideas, this board is everything my dreams are made of. Part of me is hoping Baby Reese is a girl so that alllll my pink, beach, flamingo dreams can come true in this room. My original vision included more pink, but after playing around with different wallpapers and furniture options, I started to love the soft and calming vibe of this blush, neutral & pink coastal nursery. I’m also looking for any and all excuses to purchase this Gray Malin print. I’ve been drooling and dreaming about ever since Mckenna Bleu shared hers a few years ago. Sadly, I have nowhere to put a pink beachy print right now.
Boy’s Jungle-Safari Nursery

When Wes first told me he thought a safari nursery for a boy would be cool I wasn’t really feeling it. I decided to explore his idea and see if it could work before dismissing it and ended up really loving how it came together. I can honestly say, this Serengeti print material and pillows from South Carolina designer Post House Design really brought it to life for me. Once I had that first swatch, things started coming together for this theme. I’m obsessed with the bone inlay dresser and the green crib. If Baby Reese is a boy, I’m really, really considering the jungle- safari theme but am still soooo in love with the nautical theme.
Girl’s Neutral Nursery

I never saw myself as a neutral nursery mom but, once again, I just followed where the product and nursery idea led me. I started out planning for a botanical nursery with this amazing wallpaper from Serena & Lily. It comes in a few colors and I’m equally obsessed with the two blue shades. After shopping around, I ended up finding more neutral items, like this stripe rug and textured lamps, that really worked well together. It still has a botanical vibe and it could even more with some beautiful prints hanging on the walls but for now, I love it as is.
