Back in October, I shared my tips for finding the perfect rug from Loloi Rugs for your home. I’m pretty excited to be back here with you today to finally share the beautiful Loloi rug we chose and how it’s exactly what we needed to complete our family room.

I knew from the day we chose our house plan that I wanted our main rooms to be done in blue and white. I’ve been obsessed with the color combo for as long as I can remember but never had a space that I could really do it justice. Because our last house was very closed off and had lots of walls, we chose an open floor plan with 18-foot ceilings in the great room and lots of windows that flood the space with natural light. I ultimately wanted the space to feel comfortable and fresh yet light and airy. I knew that blue was a calming color and a good compromise for both my and Wes’s preferences so it was confirmed that the great room was finally the right space to fulfill my blue and white dreams.

Once the color palette was confirmed I knew I wanted to choose my rug first. I am so particular about area rugs and knew that would be the hardest thing for me to pick out. Once that was chosen, everything else would be chosen to complement the rug. When I first started browsing the Loloi Rugs website, I narrowed my search to all the blue choices. I thought this would help me but it actually made it so hard because there were so many great options. I went through and bookmarked all of my favorites on the first pass. This narrowed down my selection to about 20 rugs. From there, I decided I wanted a rug with darker blue coloring to balance the room. We used lots of white in the construction of the house with the wall paint, trim and built-in bookcases. If we ended up with a light or white couch (which we did), a light-colored rug could get lost or not look as good in the space.

From there I focused on size, availability, and feel. It was really important for Wes to have a more plush rug that would be comfortable and soft to play around on with Wally. With all those filters, we settled on this beauty from the Viera Collection. Our rug is so perfect for us and our beautiful blue and white living room. The colors in the rug were so easy to match and coordinate with the rest of the blue and white decor I collected. It truly brought life to our living room. Since we spend the most time together in the living room,

finding the perfect rug from Loloi Rugs was the first great step we took in making our new house our forever home.

An Honest Rug Review

As you may know, nothing in construction ever happens on time or when you think it will. We met lots of problems and delays we, of course, weren’t expecting so it took us lots longer than expected to get everything done and get settled. Now that we’ve been in our house for a few months and have been through a few months of hard living on the rug, I wanted to share an honest review of how it compares to my expectations.

I cannot tell you guys how much we love this rug. From a design perspective, I love it so much for the color and variety the pattern brings to our space. As a mom, I love how durable it is and how easy it is to clean. Needless to say, we have had our fair share of spills on the rug (despite my protesting any eating in the living room) and I have been able to get up all the stains, crumbs and spots without breaking a sweat over it being ruined. Wes loves it because it is exactly what he was looking for and because he was right about Wally wanting to play on it all the time. Wally loves it because it is the perfect play mat for him and all of his new Christmas presents. We spend several hours each day playing on the rug and it is soft and comfortable.
