Makeup Monday: Drug Store Beauty Buys

After working in corporate retail for over five years and cosmetics for two of them, it should come as no surprise that I am a total beauty junkie. However, I’m totally not a fan of paying crazy prices for my addiction. I am not the kind of beauty junkie that has a great youtube channel of videos that will blow your mind with insane makeup techniques. I am the kind of junkie that knows a good product and is always curious about what’s new. In my experience, I have found more often than not, there is a “generic” equivalent to the pricey brands you would find in a department store.  By equivalent, I mean they may as well be twins in different clothing. A lot of the drug store brands are owned by the same parent companies that own several of the department store brands. The products are scary similar in appearance and quality but the price tags are drastically different. For today’s Makeup Monday I’m sharing my drug store beauty picks. Since I’m already thinking Spring, I’m sharing a few of the items I use in warmer months when I don’t wear as much makeup.

I am all about the highlighters, bronzers and items that give you a dewy summer glow. If I only go for the bare minimum when leaving the house, I put on my highlighter, mascara and a lip. Tinted lip oils are super hot right now and after a long run of the matte lip, the gloss is making a come back. I can’t say I’m mad about it at all. If you’re in a hurry and just want something easy, you’ll definitely want a gloss you can swipe on without a mirror.

Everything is very reasonably priced and can be found at your local drugstore. If you prefer to shop online, just hover over the image and click on any icon to add to cart. If you are one of those #blessed individuals that doesn’t need any makeup at all then be sure to check out my skincare picks in this post here. Hope you guys have the happiest Monday!

xoxo

Those items look lovely! American drugstores are the best – there is so much choice! I live in Austria and we don’t have that many brands in the drugstores here… 🙁

I couldn’t agree more! Once in a while, I will splurge on a high-end product but drugstore makeup is just as good most of the time. NYX is one of my favorites! and elf too. I also love them because they’re cruelty-free :). Oh and I love those pinks you’ve picked! Those will be perfect for spring!

I love finding great drugstore products that rival the more expensive brands! I haven’t tried any of these products but I’m definitely going to check some of them out.

You definitely have to! Start with the NYX ! They have a wide variety of products and all perform really well. You can also google the parent companies to see what brands fall under them. Estee Lauder & L’Oreal are two of the biggest.
