Hello Tuesday!! How awesome is it to start the week on day two?! My favorite Mondays are the ones spent by the pool eating cool treats and soaking up the sun with friends and family; which is exactly what I did! This year is the first year since Wes and I have been together that we haven’t been at the beach for the week of the 4th. It totally threw me too! Strange as it sounds, I just couldn’t get myself together with a new plan, mostly because of the threat of rain. It was totally bumming me out and making me super nervous to commit to any plans. Turns out, the Charlotte area (or at least my neck of the woods) only got a few showers in the evenings and had some clouds in the AM. By the time I got done with bootcamp and made myself some lunch each day, it was bright and sunny and totally perfect! God was totally looking out for me and bummed out spirit. He knew exactly what I needed and gave me the most restful and relaxing weekend with my family and friends. I had plenty of ice cream, got well into The Bell Jar which has been on my reading list for quite some time now and even managed to crank out some DIY pom sandals (stay tuned for that post!)
I spent most of the weekend in a swimsuit and cover-up so there wasn’t too much excitement in the outfit dept. However, I did manage to get myself dressed for dinner last night and opted for this amazing light weight gauzy- gingham top and the white version of my all too fabulous distressed boyfriend shorts. It was comfy and laid back and just what the evening called for. The best part: all of it is on sale! Use the links below to help yourself to these amazing summer pieces. If you haven’t tried them already, you have to get your hands on these shorts. You’ll be living in them!!!
What did you all do for the 4th? Any crazy fun family traditions?
