Well folks, how about we start this week off right with a blog post. I used to be so diligent about posting every Monday but, well, life happens and Tuesday posting has been par for the course these days. I’m pretty excited to have my act together this week and to share this post with y’all. I had a super productive weekend which is extra shocking since it was my mom’s birthday and Mother’s Day. I’m pretty sure we skipped Spring and went straight to Summer since the 90 temps were in full swing this weekend but I can’t be mad. Any excuse to wear an obnoxiously large bow on a crop top and lounge by the pool is fine by me. This was originally planned to be one of my outfits for Charleston Fashion Week but the weather didn’t allow.
I’ve mentioned it once or twice on instagram how incredibly self conscious I am. I have been my whole life. I have never been one to bare a midriff – not even a sliver, at least until this year. Maybe I’m getting more mature or confident in myself or maybe my all my bootcamp days are really paying off, but this year I am totally drawn to the crop top. I can honestly say I won’t be going all in, but a “toe in the water” if you will, with a pair of high waist pants (or skirt) to minimize the exposure is super appealing. Even the scariest and “edgiest” trends can be chic and modest with the right pairing.
Something about this year has me wanting to try new things and be more adventurous with my style. Again, it may be maturity or insanity setting in – not sure which, but I’m enjoying the payoff of taking risks and trying new things. What are you guys getting into and trying this year?
