Let’s Chat!
Happy Thursday everyone! I know it has been a looooong time since our last Happy Hour. It is partly due to a lack of questions coming in for a while and partly due to #life. I’ve been pretty open and honest about my struggle to find a balance between being a great mom and being a consistently great blogger & businesswoman. I honestly don’t know how so many people make it look so easy because I’m constantly feeling like I cannot do both well at the same time. Anyways, I don’t mean to make excuses for leaving you high and dry, I’m just saying, it’s tough and your girl is struggling 9 days out of 10. No matter how we get together here, I’m glad we are and I’m even more excited about today’s topic- my favorite statement piece & cocktail so let’s get to it!
Question:
What is your favorite statement piece?
Answer:
This is such a hard question for me since I love any and everything over the top. Truth is, my favorites change every few years! I would have to say my favorite statement piece right now is a great top/ blouse. I’ve seen so many fabulous tops with incredible design details lately that really stand out. Including but not limited to: a cool print, a peplum detail, one shoulder, XL ruffles, fringe, lace, sheer sleeves, XL sleeves, embellishments, bold prints, and chic fits.
I usually opt for a printed dress when I’m feeling outfit lazy, but when running quick errands or getting ready for a low key day with Wally, I often reach for shorts or my white jeans. Bold, statement-making tops allow me to feel pulled together and chic without putting too much effort into my look.
I’m currently drooling over this mix print top, this bow tee, and have this one and this one in my cart. Shop more of my favorite statement tops after you check out this week’s cocktail recipe.
Cocktail Crush:
My Perfect Margarita
A good margarita is possibly my all-time favorite drink. Since I only indulge when the weather is warm or my surroundings air on the side of tropical, I don’t have them too often. Last week, in honor of Cinco de Mayo – my fave non-holiday holiday (see previous posts here, here & a fiesta post here). I broke out my ingredients to have one of these refreshing drinks. I think you’ll agree, this recipe is easy, refreshing & delicious! Always drink responsibly. Cheers!
