Camo Jacket - Reese's Hardwear

Happy Trend Tuesday everyone! I hope you enjoyed last week’s leopard look. I really love how the poncho doubled as a blanket scarf but I could resist another Camo Tuesday for this week and I really couldn’t wait to share this camo jacket – it’s one of my all time faves!

Clearly I have a thing for pairing camo with whites (if you missed the last pairing you can read all about it in this post). Just another sign of my evolving style – as are these silver mules!! Y’all, I know today is all about the camo (and it really is), but there was a day when I would have said heck -to-the-no on backless loafer slides because I have large[r] feet and always felt they made me look like a clown. As of late (and by late I mean two foot surgeries since April) I have been embracing all the trends happening in the world of flat shoes. Anyways, back to the camo! I really couldn’t tell you why I started to have a “thing” for camo. Maybe my family’s fondness for hunting? I really don’t know.. I have no”real” reason to like it, but I dooooooo!!!!!!! I’m sure my love for a good camo jacket stems from my love of olive and ultimately my love for colored neutrals. TBH, I’m not even sure if that is a word but I’m rolling with it and using it to describe: olive / camo, navy, wine and leopard – y’all know what I’m talking about!! If you don’t, then just think for a hot minute how many times you’ve used any of those few shades as a neutral to ground a brighter or more pigmented color… Yup, thought so! My #basic nature is to pair a “colored neutral” back to a true neutral, as you can see here. What I do love about this crazy combination of pieces are the details! The full on utility nature of this jacket paired with the undeniable feminine detail on the dress is perfection!

STYLE TIP: I really love rolling up the jacket sleeves to reveal more of the eyelet lace dress. Those peeks of lace and pop of red on the lips add just the right amount of glamour to cool every day outfit.

STYLE TIP #2: Swap out the metallic slides for your favorite chic heels for a date night ready look. No matter which way you go, you’ll kill it. Don’t be disappointed if you don’t blend in!
