Welp! It’s the start of another week and I’m kicking it off with a healthy dose of pink in this super fun baseball tee. I’m also celebrating GO month with Gaston Outside. I’ve teamed up with them to take you guys on a tour of my favorite spots around town. The best part – the are just a short drive from Charlotte. Be sure to check back all this week for more posts and keep reading to hear about my first stop!
When my friends at Gaston Outside first asked me to do this tour, I was of course excited but kind of overwhelmed. I’ve been living in Gaston County my whole life and have tons of favorites. How could I ever narrow it down to my top 5!? I started making a list of my regular stops, new hot spots, places you have to go and the local secrets. From there, I managed to come up with a few key categories to touch on: coffee, fitness, food, treats and shopping. Today I’m sharing a relatively new spot: the cotton candy factory. The cotton candy factory is a glorious place for any sugar addict. You can spin your own cotton candy or choose from an entire wall of flavors and sizes. Cotton candy not your thing? No problem, there is a ridiculously large selection of other candies and the largest gumball machine I have ever seen. The shop has a vibrant decor full of the prettiest cotton candy shades and an adorable outdoor table right on Main St. in Belmont where you can people watch or just enjoy a beautiful afternoon. My favorite part about The Cotton Candy Factory is what they are doing for the community. This shop (along with Cherubs Cafe and Cherubs Candy Boquet just down the block) is owned and operated by Holy Angels : A Belmont based non-profit that provides high quality support and care for our special needs community. “All business serve to provide Holy Angels residents and community members the opportunity to learn about each other and socialize in a fun business environment, these important ventures provide for vocational training and meaningful supported employee options. Any profits from sales are used solely to fund the programs and services of Holy Angels” (Holy Angels). Be sure to stop by The Cotton Candy Factory for your next sugar fix or party favor needs.
In anticipation of my sugar high and inevitable food baby, I threw on this super adorable baseball tee. Like everything else I’m wearing lately it is another piece from my current fave brand and a must have! It also comes in grey but the pink with the major ruffle sleeves is my favorite. I was not planning on matching the store, but opted for the strawberry cotton candy flavor to add to my pink overload.
