If you’ve been following along since the early days of my blogging career when Reese’s Hardwear was The Fancier Fan, you probably remember when jewelry making was my main focus. I started blogging as a way to style and show off my jewelry with different outfits. As the blog grew, I spent less and less time making and marketing jewelry and more time styling looks and sharing my online finds with all of you. Sometimes I miss it as it is a super fun creative outlet for me, but for the most part, am loving the direction this path has taken me. Today, I’m excited to share the launch of a new jewelry collection for COVID 19 relief.
Since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, I have had a strong desire to help the people in my community (Charlotte) who have been most impacted by the pandemic and resulting economic crisis. It’s times like these where I’m extra grateful for my jewelry making skills. I can’t sew for anything and I don’t have fabric to make masks, but I can make colorful, beautiful jewelry that (hopefully) people will want to buy and I can use that to help make a difference in my community. I spent the first 4 weeks of quarantine sourcing materials from local bead stores and small businesses, making bracelets, necklaces, and hand painting beads every night. It was really important to me that materials for the jewelry collection for COVID 19 not only help those who need food but to support the small businesses that are also struggling right now. It has truly been a labor of love and now… I’m finally sharing all of it with you!
The Necklace
There is only one necklace offered in the “Corona Collection”, the candy crush necklace, but it is a must-have. Each hand-knotted candy crush necklace is made up of genuine semi-precious stones and finished with a pave lobster claw clasp for easy wear. The finished piece is approximately 17″ from end to end and is a great piece to wear alone or layered with others. Due to the unique and handmade nature of each necklace, the color and length will vary slightly. The corona collection necklace comes is currently available in pink Peruvian opal and Amazonite with the option to purchase in opal, lapis lazuli, chalcedony, and lemon jade coming soon.
$15.00 from each necklace sale will go directly to the Second Harvest Food Bank – Metrolina.
