I love it when the weather turns, the days get longer and there are a few more reasons to celebrate with family & friends. I have been so inspired by the extra hour of daylight and natural light flooding our house that I had to set the table and thought a blue and white brunch would be perfect. Many of you know my obsession with blue and white. If you don’t, you can check out our living room for proof. Because I love blue and white so much, I was able to shop my current home decor and collection of table goodies for many of the items featured in today’s blue and white brunch tablescape. Also, how perfect are these Chappy Wrap blankets on the backs of the chairs?! Late last year I saw Kristen Chambless of Color by K and entertaining queen style her Chappy Wrap blankets this way and I fell in love! When I was needing to add some darker blues to the tablescape, I knew this would be the perfect trick to make it happen.
Chappy Wrap patterned blankets hydrangea, scallop, herringbone, navy herringbone (all c/o), Assorted ginger jars (old), Pier 1 blue wine glasses, blue candles, candlesticks (old) – similar here, water hyacinth placemats, Vietri Lastra dinner plates, gold flatware (old) similar here & here, Threshold tablecloth, similar spotted napkins, beaded napkin rings I made
Back in November when I was talking about different Thanksgiving tablescapes, I talked a little about shopping your house first. Table linens and decor are much different from clothing and accessories in that you will only use them maybe 10 days out of the year and I’m being generous. If you went out and bought e v e r y t h i n g every time you hosted something in your home, you’d go broke! This is why I say shop your house and those close to you to find some core items you can use (like the blankets). Once you have your starting pieces, you can fill in the rest to make your theme or color palette complete.
I hope this beautiful blue and white tablescape inspires your to create one of your own or helps you figure out what to do for your next gathering. For more inspiration and tablescapes, be sure to check out the other posts from #RHentertains. XO
