I don’t know about all of you, but this morning called for a large coffee! There is so much going on with work and family right now It’s hard to keep everything straight. Since today is a day to get $tuff done, I got my butt in gear this morning and swung by my favorite drive thru. Lucky for me, I got my first reward on the new star system and now get to enjoy another XL dose of caffeine somewhere around Friday when I’m panicking about how much I have to do this weekend. Anyways, I digress, I’ll be sharing all the beautiful details of my upcoming plans soon, so stay posted!
Today’s look is all about this weekend. As I mentioned earlier, there is so much going on! My friend Dianna (aka the Burger Diva- if you don’t know then get the scoop from my post here) is having her fabulous birthday party this weekend at VBGB and it’s an all white theme. A great way to lead into Memorial day weekend and summer right!? I thought so too at first, but then I starting getting those same jitters about all white as I did about denim on denim. I really didn’t want to go the standard dress route. It just seemed too easy. I wanted to be brave and use this party to embrace the opportunity to add some these dramatic white blouses I have been seeing to my wardrobe. It’s definitely one of my favorite trends of the season so I went for it and today am giving it a test drive. This bow front billowy sleeve top was the biggest risk with the highest reward (as my bosses like to say). It immediately drew my eye and I knew I had to try it. Once it came, I almost immediately dismissed it for the fear that it wouldn’t look good on me, that I would look silly or that I wouldn’t have “the body” for it. Boy am I glad I kicked all those silly insecurities to the curb & tried it! It was so much fun to wear and even more fun to style with some soft, colorful accessories. These espadrilles are so and I mean so cute and comfortable and my adorable blush bag is only $26. Talk about a steal compared to $1,200! I’ll definitely have all these pieces on repeat and will be taking them along with me on a few adventures this summer.
What are some of your favorite trends / pieces this season?
Bell Sleeve Bow Tie Blouse, Levi’s Boyfriend Jeans also in dark wash here (both under $50), Rebecca Minkoff Stud Espadrilles, JCrew Floral Earrings (from last year but similar linked here & here), Blush Bag
